Sometimes two colors that shouldn’t work together become the whole reason a piece works.

This one-of-a-kind Reimagined Vintage necklace began with vintage and previously loved jewelry components that I brought together into something entirely new.

The focal point started life as an earring—a richly colored red rhinestone piece with a brilliant turquoise-blue center. Rather than leave its story there, I paired it with a luminous aqua teardrop and suspended the two together from a textured gold-tone ring.

I loved the unexpected contrast so much that I carried those soft aqua tones upward through the necklace, adding small faceted bead drops along the chain. The result is colorful without feeling overly bright, with just enough movement and sparkle.

A decorative clasp was added to finish the design—because on a Reimagined Vintage piece, even the functional details deserve to be pretty.

At approximately 29 inches long, this is an easy statement necklace with a relaxed, elongated silhouette. Wear it over a simple top, sweater or dress and let the mismatched colors and collected details do all the work.
